Founded in 1895 and a University since 1966, Aston is a long establishedresearch-led University known for its world-class teaching quality and strong links to industry, government and commerce. Professor Julia King became Vice-Chancellor of the University in 2006.
Aston University is based in the centre of Birmingham, home to over 65,000 students and one of Europe’s liveliest and most welcoming cities.
Our friendly and safe 40 acre campus houses all the University's academic, social and accommodation facilities for our 9,500 students.
We are consistently ranked in the UK's top 20-30 Universities confirming our place amongst the elite. We also have a consistently outstanding reputation for helping our graduates secure good jobs. In 2010-11 over 87% of employed Aston graduates findinggraduate level employment within six months of graduation, compared to a national average of around 70%.

Aston offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, and also works with the public and private sector to develop tailored Continuing Professional Development and Foundation Degree programmes.

Delivering the Vision: Phase 1 of the University's new residential development is already open to students, offering fantastic, efficient, comfortable and very green, 5 and 7 bedroom units. These are all en-suite with shared kitchen and communal lounge facilities. Phase 2 is currently under construction and will be completed by 2014 with the demolition of the remaining standard accommodation.The Students’ Guild offers a wide range of activities, entertainment and socialising opportunities, whilst Aston’s campus has excellentsporting facilities for students, all of which contribute to the Aston experience.
